......I made this:

And I could tell Sung Hyun didn't like it. Hummmmm what to do with a boy who doesn't enjoy Western food! Any suggestions?

You need to pull a Good Man line, "Well, you already married me. What can you do about it now?"

His only option? Learn to cook himself and do all the cooking.

Luckily junayd likes western food, but on those days where my food is too bland or not like his mothers I quietly hand him a bottle of hot sauce and tell him to cook for himself next time. I'm not a restaurant and now that I am nursing, I can't eat such spicy food!

Tell him to keep trying it and that it sometimes can be an acquired taste. Or he will have to do all the cooking...good luck!

If I know SH and i think I do a little anyway...he probably wouldn't tell you that he doesn't like the food. You just know...maybe bc he doesn't finish everything on his plate or eats a few ice cream bars after (or doesn't shove as much food in his mouth as humanly possible---joke). I don't think he really tells you he doesn't like something right? I guess he'll just eat the food and suck it up. Eventually he'll develop a test for it. Like you did with korean food. He'd better get used to it.....Kimchi is expensive in Regina :)

Sorry a post wasn't removed jen...you just forgot to sign out at my house and I accidentally posted a comment from you...but from me...the post is above...and I deleted the one from you and logged out of your account.

I think you could try something easier first, such as pizza, pasta, steak, sausages or something closer to Western such as Mexican. Salads are not quite easy for Koreans because of the unfamiliar taste of dressings. You could also suggest him he could have salads with chilly paste if he wants to. When I was a boy, I couldn’t drink plain milk, so I started with chocolate milk, and I was able to progress to the plain milk after awhile without much difficulty.

Can I also suggest hot meals?

In the heat of summer here I have trouble eating very much but my husband doesn't feel like it's a meal unless it is hot.

As well, why not right out ask him, what he's craving and explain to him what the flavours are that you enjoy in certain dishes. Again, my husband couldn't recognize certain flavours due to mass quantities of garlic and pepper paste for so many years. But after helping him to identify certain tastes he now enjoys and is willing to try more international dishes.
