Day 8 -- Last day at the beach

Today was our last day on the beach so I woke up bright and early so that I was able to soak up some last minute sun.

Before we left to the airport Liz rented a jet ski and rode around in the water for about 20 minutes. It was a BLAST -- the perfect ending to a great relaxing week on the beach!!!!

After our ride we packed up and headed to the airport, which is where we discovered we had to pay a 300 Baht ($8) VAT tax in order to get on the plane; certainly not happy about that one :(

We were sad to leave the island and head to the busy site of Bangkok because it was so peaceful on the beach. After our flight we waited in line for about 1 hour to get the cheap taxi. We talked to this Thai man behind us and he suggested some things to do and see. Basically since neither of us researched this trip we were relying on advice from others; so far so good.

After we got to our guesthouse/ hotel (which was luxary for us compared to our shitty beach hut) we went for an hour Thai massage. Both of us were so tired that we headed off to bed in order to prepare for the big day in Bangkok.
